Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Customers demand increasingly thinner, lighter and more compact cellular phones and portable electronics equipment. Improvements have been achieved by incorporating prismatic type cells, which are lighter and thinner than cylindrical cells. Now, GS-Melcotec Co.Ltd has developed a new type of lithium-ion cells, the LT series, providing energy density of 147Wh/kg. The LT series substitutes laminate film in lieu of a metal casing. In this paper we will introduce the newly developed "LT series" lithium-ion cells.
