Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The oscillograms of AC breakdown and DC conduction in plasma polymerized ethylene (PPE) films sandwiched between Au and Al or two Al electrodes were measured in a dark vacuum vessel at various temperatures. It was experimentally found that both the ratio of polarity in AC self-healing breakdown and DC conduction current depended on the lower electrode materials. It was also found that the breakdown field decreased with the increment of temperature and with the decrement of frequency. It was suggested that the hole injection at the metal/film interface play an important role in AC breakdown and DC conduction in PPE thin film device.
