Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) SrAl_2O_4 activated with Eu, that is, one of new fluorescent materials with oong decay time, was deposited on Si substrates using an RF sputtering technique with facing targets. The as-deposited SrAl_2O_4 films did not show any photoluminescence. However a photoluminescent peak at about 520nm was observed after annealing in reducing (Ar+H_2) gas. The photoluminescence and the thermoluminescence (TL) properties have been invgestigated. The TL spectra in a higher temperature region, which contribute for the long phosphorescence, were measured by the partial heating technique and the distributed trap depths and the lifetimes were evaluated.
