Abstract(in English) We have developed three custom LSIs for DVD-R system. It is possible to constitute a DVD-R system by adding those three LSIs to the conventional DVD-ROM reproduction system. Each LSI takes charge of an analog portion, a digital portion, and a Write strategy portion, and has incorporated all the functions needed by DVD-R. Furthermore it is developed on the basis of the newest information so that it can correspond to new standardization, such as the capacity increase to 4.7 G bytes of DVD-R, and extension of a new writing method. Moreover the power saving function is incorporated by stopping electric-power supply of an internal circuit or clock supply.
