Abstract(in English) Structure of cadmium arachidate LB films and squarylium LB films has been investigated using the attenuated total reflection (ATR) method.Optical properties of ultrathin films can be obtained with a high resolution from ATR measurements.The anisotorpic dielectric constants are decided for squarylium LB films in consideration of the optical axis that is Perpendicular to the LB film plane. Furthermore,structure changes caused by annealing are studied from ATR measurements for the cadmium arachidate LB films and the squarylium LB films.
