Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | During photochemical change of the bacteriorhodopsin protein (bR), both the absorption and refractive index change at 633 and 442 nm, corresponding to the absorption edges of the two photochemical states. A Fabry Perot cavity containing bR thin film can be set to exhibit a novel bistability acting on optical properties at two wavelengths simultaneously. We may be able to construct an optical device allowing two dimensional optical information storage, non-destructive optical readout, and parallel image transfer. |
