Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Films of C60 compounds with several kinds of metals (Rb, Sr, Y) were prepared by electrolysis from solution. The electrolyte solution used was the mixture of N,N-dimethylformamide and toluene (mole ratio 1:1) including with 0.75mM-C60 and 0.05M-{M(CIO4)x}(M=Rb(x=1), Sr(x=2), Y(x=3)). The anode and the cathode were silver plates, and the reference electrode was Ag/Ag^+ which was for nonaqueous solution only. Clear redox waves of C60 molecules were observed in cyclic voltammetry of the solution. Reduction reactions on the cathode were preferentially promoted around the potential where C60 molecules were changed into negative ions with the valence corresponding to that of each the metal ions. The electrolysis was done under a constant current mode at the potential indicated above. Then black thin films were deposited on a silver plate of the cathode. Raman spectroscopy, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and x-ray diffraction analyses were investigated for the films synthesized. From obtained results it was suggested that the films were MC60 compounds and had quasi-two dimensional polymeric structures.
