Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | The minimum bit size in magnet-optical recording has been calculated through the computer simulation of the thermomagnetic recording process. Assuming laser spot radii between 0.01 and 0.6 μm, the thermal diffusion and the wall motion processes have been simulated for rare earth rich rare earth -transition metal ferrimagnetic film media with M_s H_c product of 10^5 erg/cc. As a result, when M_s≦150 emu/cc, the minimum recorded domain sizes are equal to those in the static condition at room temperature, while, when M_s≧200 emu/cc, the minimum sizes are larger than those in the static condition. This is attributed to the reduced stray field near the compensation temperature. |
