Abstract(in English) | Recent progress on multimedia telecommunications has expanded the range of battery applications and complicated patterns of battery uses. In this paper, we evaluate the cycling characteristics of trickle-charged Ni/Cd cells developed for optical network units. These cells can be used in a temperature range from -20℃ to 60℃ and survive for 10 years or longer at 30℃. In tests where the cells were cycled at charge and discharge currents of 1 CmA or larger, our cells showed a cycle life as long or longer than that of standard cells for cycle use. |
