Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) is expected as a basic technology for multimedia communication by B-ISDN(Broadband Integrated Services Digital Network). Several organizations are investigating an ultra-fast ATM switching system in anticipation of an enlargement of exchange capacity of ATM switching system due to spread of multi-media communication. Surveying hardware and assembly technologies for the 160Gb/s ATM switch system from a view point of LSI, MCM, interconnection and cooling etc, and refer to break-through technologies and possibility of future ATM switching system.
