| Abstract(in English) | In the DVD system, the optical parameter is much changed in order to achieve higher recording density. The thickness of the disc substrate, for example, is reduced to a half of the CD. This change make it difficult to read the CD by an optical pickup for the DVD. Three methods are developed to resolve above mentioned problem. They are hologram-applied dual focus objective lens method, hybrid objective lens method, and two light source method. In the two light sources method, CD-R, which has very sharp wavelength dependency, also can be read by using a red laser diode for the DVD and an infra-red laser diode for the CD. |
