| 抄録(和) | DVD再生専用ディスクは, 単層片面で4.7Gバイトの容量である. これは, CD-ROM Mode1の最大容量688 Mバイトの6.8倍の容量である. 650nmのレーザや高NAレンズ, 0.6 mm厚の基板の採用, 効率の良い8/16変調方式やエラー訂正方式の採用等, 各種の技術が組み合わされて, 大容量が実現されている. また, 民生用では始めて深さ方向に記録密度を上げた, 2層ディスクが規格化されている. 一方, ビデオ信号の方もMPEG2の圧縮とともに, 可変レート方式を採用, 再生プレーヤも非同期再生方式を採用し, 高画質を達成している. |
| 抄録(英) | The capasity of the single sided single layered DVD Read-Only Disc is 4.7 Gbytes which is 6.8 times larger than that of CD-ROM Model(688 Mbytes). This large capacity is achieved by using some technologies such as 650nm LD, high NA of 0.6, 0.6 mm thick substrate, efficient 8/16 modulation and error correction code. And the dual layered disc which is the first disc to increase density in the direction of depth for commercial use is also specified. The MPEG2 compression and the variable bit rate coding are used for the video format. Those technologies also contribute to the high quality video reproduction. |
