Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this study, we measured the distribution of reflection with the fiber interferometer using incoherent light, and estimated the facet reflectivities and the effective gain of DFB-LD's. Owing to the DFB-LD's grating, the measured facet reflectivities changed remarkably around the DFB wavelength. The wavelength dependence of the effective gain agrees qualitatively with that of the relative gain measured from the modulation index of the spontaneous emission spectrum.
