Abstract(in English) Recently there has been much interest in one-dimensional multiple barrier structures which can serve as electron-wave filters, because they are important quantum potential structures to control the behavior of the electron-wave in ultra small semiconductor devices. There have been a number of theoretical studies on symmetrical multiple barrier structures, while there has been very little theoretical work for asymmetrical multiple barrier structures. In this paper, a new design procedure for electron-wave filters using asymmetrical multiple barrier structures is proposed based on the concept of the impedance matching.
