Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this work, we consider applying perfect reconstruction de-interlaing to intra-frame/field-based codec system so that the system structure can realize a rich scalability with one bit stream according to requirements for image quality. When the conventional field interleaving or separation is applied for an interlaced picture, the intra-frame/field-based codec system causes horizontal comb-shape artifacts at edges of motion part or aliasing. Due to these effects, the low-bitrate-decoded pictures are degraded around the edges. The proposed technique is shown that the pictures decoded on low bitrate causes less comb-shape artifacts except for extra-process and the one decoded on high bitrate are able to be kept the spacial-resolution. It is also shown that the efficient implementation and lossless implementation exist for a unique case.
