Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Error Spectrum Shaping (ESS) is a technique to reduce the influence of the quantization error which occurs with the finite word length expression, this is realized by replacing a conventional rounding quantizer with the Error Feedback (EF) quantizer. Last time, we reported the way of reducing the operational error of the output of the filter by using ESS for the finite word length expression of the coefficients of the FIR digital filter. This is the way of considering coloredness of the input-signal and there is an effect in it especially to the picture and the sound signal processing system. This report finds out the optimal error feedback coefficient as noise variance becomes the smallest at, the filter output when applying ESS to the finite word length expression of the coefficients of the linear-phase filter. Moreover, the way of applying ESS to Transform Coding is described and it confirms an effect by the simulation.
