An Adaptive Edge Detection on the Space Distribution of Images

Abstract(in English) In this report, a new approach which detects edges in a given image by using 3-dimensional clustering is presented. This approach is based on the property that the similar gray scale value of pixel covers a certain area in an image. In order to select the similar values, a self-organized clustering techinique is introduced. As an input vector, the gray scale level of a pixel and its locations are used. After proper self-organization, every cluster is explored whether it includes a part of edge. In this report, the accuracy of the clustering and the edge detection are discussed in some experiments.
