Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Output distortions cannot be avoided in filter banks when subband signals are quantized in practical applications, even if perfect reconstruction conditions are satisfied. Linear periodical time-varying property of synthesis bank causes periodical distortion which is called checkerboard effect. In this report, necessary and sufficient condition for M-channel perfect reconstruction filter banks to avoid checkerboard effects is given. We give a new theorem which show that the condition that each polyphase component of synthesis lowpass filter has the same. DC gain and the condition that each analysis filter except a lowpass filter has a zero at DC are equivalent. The condition for paraunitary filterbanks is also given. |
