An Evaluation of Network Structure for Diversity Coded ATM Network

Abstract(in English) This paper describes a failure resistant network using diversity coding. The technique uses error control codes constructed across logically independent virtual paths in ATM networks. This enables A nearly instaneous data recovery from facility failure and does not need rerouting. The authors proposed an efficient construction algorithm for hybrid network structure using both diversity-coding and non-coded self-healing. The simulation results show that the proposed network structure enables to reduce failure recovery time compared with ordinary self-healing network.
