Soft-Decision Decoding of Conatenated Codes Using Reliability

Abstract(in English) In this paper we have proposed a new soft-decision decoding scheme of concatenated codes.First,the definition of reliability measure,which has been proposed by Tanaka before,are reviewed concisely.Next,a new soft-decision decoding scheme is proposed,in which the maximum-likelihood decoding is applied for inner codes to obtain their reliabilities at the same time and then the compound decoding is applied for the outer code using those reliabilities ingeneously.In the process of the compound decoding, a few codewords can be reconstructed by changing the number of erasures and the correlation decoding is performed for those candidates.Finally,the effectiveness of the proposed scheme is certified by the block-error probability obtained by computer simulation.
