Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a synchronization-error-control scheme by using modulation codes. In optical disk systems, special pattern sequences called a synchronization(sync.)pattern are inserted frequently. However, the insertion of sync.pattern degrade the efficiency of whole system. The purpose of our proposal is to reduce the number of sync.patterns by using modulation codes which can separate received words correctly even if some insertion, deletion errors occur in a channel. We also present a construction of such modulation codes caued Weight and Runlength Limited(WRLL)codes. Furthermore,we compare our proposal with a conventioifal scheme with respect to the number of erasures caused by insertion/ deletion errors. We show that our proposal can reduce the number of erasures.
