Detection of Rotation and Scaling Parameters based on Simple Block Matching

Abstract(in English) As an important technique for performing more efficient motion displacement estimation in moving images,several motion compensation methods have already been developed.Block matching method is well known on of them,but basically looks upon as a technique for searching only parallel displacement.Alternatively, affine matching method is also one of them,and can perform not only searching parallel displacement bat also extracting rotation and scaling in the interframe.However,this method fairly needs the processing time of more ten times than block matching method.In this paper,we succeed to verify the effectiveness of the block matching method for detecting rotation and scaling within a few degrees instead of affine matching method.
