Convolutional Codes with Compressed Sequence and Its Multi-Stage Decoding

Abstract(in English) This paper presents a new forward error correction scheme.A part of the output sequences from the convolutional encoder is compressed at the transmitter,and the information sequence is recoverd by multi-stage Viterbi decoding at the receiver.The performance is evaluated by computer simulation.The coding gain of the proposed scheme is superior than that of conventional error correction schemes using convolutional codes and Viterbi decoding.
