Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The reliability technology developed in USA was introduced into Japan after the Second World War,and this laid the foundation of Japan′s success of today in producing factory products even better than the head house′s ones.We have continuously made efforts to o btain more reliable products,it,however, seems that we face the fact that the improvement in relability of unit components has reached the limit. Thus,we need different approaches to manage the breakthrough of the limitation. The same discussion have been made in a recently published IEEE′s Newsletter.Referring it,the author further discusses the prospects for reliability technology and points out that the reliability technologies, which cover the life prediction, lodgestic reliability, system science, transient fault analysis and human ecology, will increase the importance after this.
