Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A method for reducing the spurious signal in a direct digital synthesizer (DDS) with phase data quantization is presented and analyzed. The reduction of spurious signal is accomplished through dithering phase value prior to quantization. The analytical approach is used to derive bounds on spurious performance in these dithered system. The spur reduction is obtained at the expense of an increase in system noise floor which can be made white with small power spectral density. For a given spurious specification, phase dithering permits the use of fewer phase bits than the non-dithered system, which results in an exponential reduction in look-up table size and dramatically decreased system complexity.
