Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is generally known that the rate of BCH code decreases, as its length of code becomes longer. Therefore the code with a sufficiently high rate at long code-length is necessary. So, we construct the BCH code over GF(2^m) to improve its performance. We apply the theorem on RS code to clarify the performance BCH code over GF(2^m). As the result, we find several excellent codes that satisfy the Griesmer bound with equality. The code is constructed based on BCH code over GF(2^m) and expanded to binary code with parity check symbol. The theorem on RS code is successfully applied to BCH code over GF(2^m). Secondly, we discuss the performance of binary codes obtained by interleaving the short, binary codes on burst error channels. We propose its decoding method, and calculate the miss-correction rate with computer simulations. It shoud be noted that our proposed code can be decoded by a simple circuit. compared with non-interleaved codes with comparable code length.
