Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Shared-buffer ATM switch provide higher memory utilization than any other type of switches. However, due to the shared-buffer mechanism, cells destined to an heavily loaded output port may occupy the buffer pools. In such a case, cells destined to moderately loaded output ports are blocked and thus the throughput performance is degraded. To solve this problem, several threshold control scheme have been proposed. This paper propose a new dynamis threshold control scheme. Simulation results show that our scheme provides lower cell loss probability than other scheme.
