Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we comparatively evaluate two photonic packet switch architectures with WDM-FDL buffer for synchronized variable length packets, considering packet buffer scheduling algorithms. The first one is a shared buffer type switch, which stores the packets sent to all output ports the the switch in one FDL buffer. The second one is an output port buffer type switch, which stores packets in the FDL buffer equipped with each output port. We evaluate the performance of each buffer-type node by applying the packet scheduling algorithm and compare two switching architectures from the viewpoint of costs. Through simulation experiments, we show that each architecture has a parameter region achieving the better performance.
