Efficient Dynamic Sheared Optical Path Allocation for WDM Mesh Network

Abstract(in English) A new N:1 protection scheme only activated by a transport layer communication between optical path end points which is allocated on a WDM mesh network has been proposed. A network node is composed of an optical cross connect(OXC)and an IP router. The proposed scheme has an ability of less than 50msec protection, because of the failure detection and message transportation on an optical transport layer. Assuming the grid mesh network with 9 nodes, accommodation available optical paths have been simulated. The number of dynamic optical paths allocated on such mesh network can beshown as an increase of 30% over the 1:1 conventional protection method in the simulation.
