Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a Moving Virtual Source(MVS)scheme for optical burst switching networks. This scheme more strongly restrains the growth in delay time created at the onset of heavy traffic than the conventional scheme, the Fixed Source(FS)scheme. We set copy buffers in arbitrary transit nodes and arbitrary burst signals that arrive at a node with copy buffer are split and forwarded to the node's switch fabric and copy buffer. If the burst is blocked at a downstream node, the burst is resent from the transit node with burst copy not the source node. We analyze the MVS scheme and find that the MVS scheme efficiently suppresses the growth in the delay time at the onset of heavy traffic;a significant benefit is realized even with just a few copy buffers.
