Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As the Internet changes its role from the experimental environment to the social infrastructure, the end-to-end quality for data transfer of various types of traffic has been required as well as its connectivity. In the QoS(Quality of Service)aware Internet, performance measurement may become important technique to estimate network condition prior to data transmission and/or to confirm its quality. By using the passive measurement, we can get performance measures from each element such as the router and estimate whole network status. However, there can be the correlation between some measures of two or more adjacent elements, and it would degrade the estimation of network status. Thus in this paper, we will focus on "delay" in the passive measurement, model two tandem routers as queuing system, and analyze the delay performance and its correlation. Through some numerical results, we will investigate the relation between traffic parameter and the degree of correlation and how it affects the estimation of network performance.
