Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) IP-based cellular radio system have become the center of discussion, because it can support flexible Internet access via mobile environments. In IP-based cellular system, end-to-end transmission delay is a critical issue with respect to system performance. However, it is well known that the radio links used in cellular systems cause long transmission delays due to the high bit error rate. Therefore, this paper proposes a virtual base station(VBS)configuration scheme to reduce the transmission delay in radio links. The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated by computer simulations.
