Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In current mobile communications system using visited location register(VLR), the signaling for location registration between mobile networks is required, when the mobile terminal is visiting to the other network and changes the serving VLR.This paper proposes the gateway location register(GLR)in the visited network that is located between the VLR and the home location register(HLR)in the home network. The GLR receives and sends the signaling on behalf on the HLR, then it requires no inter-network signaling for location registration, even when the serving VLR changes. In addition, thanks to the GLR, we can easily introduce the security for inter-network signaling and the support of roaming between heterogeneous mobile communications systems.
