Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper introduces a new indoor location system, Adjacency-based Location System (ALS), which enables location-aware applications to obtain location information without Active Bat-like positioning systems. In ALS, many physical objects interact with each other, and exchange their IDs. These IDs are timestamped, and stored in a networked repository. Adjacency information is extracted as a graph representation (adjacency graph) by using adjacency extraction algorithm that analyzes relationship between stored IDs. Location information is generated by processing adjaceney graph, and provided to location-aware applications through APIs. In addition, by mapping adjacency graph and floor map, position of physical object can be determined. We designed an architecture of ALS and implemented the system as well as three prototype applications.
