Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recent advances in wireless technologies and popularization of mobile terminals allow users to connect to the Internet by way of diverse means, and have introduced the mobile computing. In the mobile computing, it is important to seamlessly move between different networks without being aware of those networks. In this paper, an overlaid mobile network is defined as a network where different wireless access networks are overlapped. And we apply Mobile IP to the overlaid mobile network in order to manage the mobile node's location when it moves between different networks. We present issues with applying Mobile IP to the overlaid mobile network, such as signaling traffics caused by Mobile IP. And we propose the mechanism to reduce the signaling traffics.
