Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The research and development project is aimed to develop low-cost solutions to help smaller scale analog CATV system be adapt to Japanese Digital Broadcasting and be will digitized local area network of broadband. It is initially implemented at a village which is located in mountain areas and operates one of typical less powered analog CATV systems under the co-operation basis of low budget. The architecture of CATV, cmployed under this research, allows the system to be connected to Gigabit Network. That does not limit the services to local area, but open to global access through the Internet. In addition, the next generation of services, including Audio/Visual data delivery, can be provided under the network.
