Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents a simulation study on the performance evaluation of the IEEE 802.11 standard MAC protocol in the case where wireless terminals transmit voice, video and data with the PCF(Point Coordination Function)of the protocol;it focuses on a single BSA(Basic Service Area)in an infrastructure network. We adopt a hierarchical scheduling architecture. In the architecture, the AP(Access Point)schedules wireless terminals, and each wireless terminal schedules voice, video and data sources. We consider a priority scheduling algorthm where transmissions of voice and video are given higher priority than data transmission. We then compare the performance of a scheduling scheme with the priority control by both AP and wirelss terminals, a scheduling scheme with the priority control only by wireless terminals, and a non-priority scheduling scheme.
