Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In a quality-of-service(QoS)aware network, policy servers have a scalability problem in terms of the number of flows handled. In this paper, we derive performance measures representin scalability of policy server using a well-known stchastic knapsack problem. We compare performance of three analytical models : complete sharing, complete partitioning and trunk partitioning. Through the numerical experiments, we give a design method of scalable backbone networks.
