Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Dynamic bandwidth reservation method is one of the FRP/DT (Fast Reservation Protocol with Delayed Transmission) methods for ATM LAN. In the method, terminals reserve bandwidth to transmit burst data at their transmissions, and then the network notifies them the reserved bandwidth which is the average of free link capacity devided by the number of the requiring terminals. When the difference of the required bandwidth from each terminal is too large, however, larger bandwidth requirement gives longer waiting delay to transmit. To improve this problem, this paper proposes a weighted dynamic bandwidth reservation method, where the network notifies more proper bandwidth to each terminal by weighting for the bandwidth requirement. Finally, we perform simulation experiments to evaluate our proposal.
