Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Moderate and high-speed IP communication services are being provided with "always-on" access networks such as ADSL systems. In the conventional dial-up networks, home users and small business users can select the ISP or company to connect by the dial number. The same service functions as in the dial-up networks are desired with the always-on access networks. Multiple access to different destinations at the same time should also be supported. In such systems, IP address translation is required to avoid the address duplication since private IP addresses are commonly used in the local networks. In order to meet the above demand, system configurations based on PPP-over-Ethernet and L2TP schemes have been studied in terms of their functions and performance.
