Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We proposed the medical and recreational integrated optical network, MARIO-Net, to construct an economical medical-image network in a prefecture area. This paper discusses the time-schedule (TS) method and the wavelength-division-multiplexing (WDM) method. At first, general features of these models are compared. Next, their economical areas are estimated by calculations using numerical examples. As a result, we describe that the both methods can reduce conventional system's cost dramatically, especially, the WDM method would be more suitable than the TS method for long-term and high-availability use in a prefecture area.
