A design method of the routing/location area of packet/circuit switching system in IMT-2000

Abstract(in English) This paper describes the design method of a Routing Area (RA) of packet switching system and Location Area (LA) of circuit switching system in the next generation mobile communication network (IMT 2000). In the integrated network of the circuit/packet switching, it is possible for the coordination procedure to reduce the volume of the signaling traffic. So it is considered that RA=LA is effective in integrated network. However it is necessary to consider that the paging procedure is not effective to make RA=LA. In this paper it is shown how the volume of signaling traffic is calculated, which is transmitted on the network. It therefore proves that the condition RA=LA is effective.
