A study of AAL functions for variable bitrate real time data

Abstract(in English) When AAL type 5 is used for variable bitrate real time data transmission,there are a several problems.For example,whole packet is lost when a bit error and, or a cell loss occurs.We first analyze the technical requirements for variable bitrate real time data transmission.Then we propose a new AAL that can suppress the bits to be discarded when a transmission error occurs.We compare the proposed AAL with AAL type 5 for inter-frame predicted coded video data that is used in MPEG2.As a result,we show that proposed AAL shows better performance than AAL type 5 in some conditions.
