Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Since mobile communications must allow a user to make and receive calls with his, her single number wherever he/she roams in service area, the number configuration is basically independent of the phisical network structures.Mobile communications generally use identity other than the dialed number to identify the target mobile terminal in service area. Thus, the roles of number and identity in mobile network are significantly different from those in fixed networks. This paper first introduces the provisions in international recommendations on the number and identity, and their existing specific configurations in Japan and some foreign countries.Next, it presents the usages of the number and identity in the second generation mobile communications
