Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Multicasting has enabled a wide range of applications such as Internet broadcasting, network collabolation, and multicast file transfer. However, controlling the rate of multicast to avoid network congestion is difficult due to the heterogeneity among the end-systems' capabilities and their available network bandwidth. In this paper, we present priority drop algorithm for multicast queue management and discuss its advantage over existing end-to-end multicast congestion control algorithm. We also present novel reliable multicast protocol with layered transmission which can achieve optimal finish time for various receivers.
