| Abstract(in English) | We have enhanced PLANQUEST, an ATM network design tool, the following functionality. One is traffic definition based on ATM Forum UNI 4.0. The second is capacity dimensioning which considers statistical multiplexing gain between heterogeneous call types within the same service category, and wwhich is based on the specific call admission control mechanism for each service category. The third is extension design support of an existing network by applying the routing algorithm which effectively accommodates additional traffic by making good use of existing network resource. The enhancement makes the system useful in planning a economical extension of an existing network. |
