Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For keeping the high reliability even the faultduration of ATM based networks, in addition to the bandwidth which normal Virtual Paths (VP)s Utilize, it is necessary to keep the spare bandwidth (named Margin bandwidth) for the use of damaged VP rerouting. However, because the network faults rarely occur, the Margin bandwidth are usually unoccupied. In this paper, we suggest the low reliability VP class (called "Best-effort VP class") where the Margin bandwidth is utilized in already constructed network. Moreover, for the low reliability class VP, we propose new routing method (named Damage Rate Routing) each reroute high reliability class VP damaged from the network faults is determined so that the existing low reliability class VPs are least influenced.
