Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Active network technology enables to customize functions in packet networks by using downloaded programs or programs in each packet. In general, to provide such programmable environment arises the performance degradation of networks. In order to deal with this problem, we have proposed an active node architecture which achieves both the function customization and fast and secure packet handling simultaneously. We also propose a language named 'streamcode' and its execution model. This hardware-decodable language enables to execute programs in the packet with the link speed by seperating the input/output line to the processor, thus avoiding the von Neumann bottleneck. We have verified the compatibility of the streamcode through the development of multi-QoS multicast application. |
