Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The future Intranet/Internet should support various kinds of QoS (quality-of-service) that differ with each application. Packet scheduling algorithms are a critical component of future Intranet/Internet that will provide a broad range of QoS guarantees. However, the implementation of packet scheduling is becoming increasingly difficult as the demand for diversification in quality-of service and high-speed networks grows. In this paper, we propose a method for packet scheduling that can be selectively executed, according to the characteristics of each type of traffic, based on the WFQ calculation principle. In addition, a high-speed implementation of this technique and the resulting analysis is discussed.
