| 抄録(和) | ネットワークの高速化に伴いネットワークと同等の速度で入出力が可能な外部記憶装置が強く望まれている。筆者らはこれまでリアルタイムOS上にMS-DOSファイルシステムベースの超高速ファイルサーバを構築したが、本稿では新たにUNIX上のUFSベースのシステムとして実現した。UNIXに適用するために連続するブロックをまとめる機能とデバイスドライバに直接リクエストを発行することでユーザメモリ空間に直接DMAを行うダイレクトアクセス機能を実装し、UNIXの速度ネックを克服する。評価システムによって得られた実験結果は、9台のハードディスク(RAID-0)で30MB以上のファイルへのアクセスに対して100Mbytes/sを超える性能を示した。 |
| 抄録(英) | Network file servers with high-speed read performance are required as networks are sped up. The authors have been developed a high-speed file server with 105 Mbytes/s read performance based on MS-DOS file system on the real-time OS (VxWorks). In this paper, new techniques of design and implementation for a high-speed file server based on UNIX are proposed. The techniques are to gather contiguous blocks on UFS (UNIX file system) for reducing the number of command requests from the file system to the device driver, and direct access method for cutting through the butter cache mechanism. Our experimental file server based on Open BSD Unix achieved 100 Mbytes/s read performance by means of only 9 hard drives in RAID level 0. |
